These bags are made by Tanei, a company that has been making kendo, judo, and karate dojis for nearly 90 years.
The fabric, made from Mikawa cotton using a technique called stitch weaving, has excellent durability, fire resistance, heat retention, and moisture absorption properties due to its unique unevenness. The bags made from this fabric, based on the sewing techniques developed for dojis, are pleasant to the touch, extremely lightweight, and strong.
The simple design of this cute, plump bucket-shaped handbag with an oval bottom gently brings out the texture of the stitch weave.
With a flap (lid) to guard your valuables, it is perfect for a quick trip to the store or a short trip out.
